Abstract

The microfluidic product is growing in the market over the last 2 decades due to its intrinsic characterizations, for example, less sample volume, rapid analyses, portability, sensitivity, high-throughput assays, the significant surface to volume ratio, fluidic automation. Also, miniaturization is a key role, leading to a smaller platform that significantly minimizes the required sample size, as well as the fabrication cost. Recent developments of microfluidic devices, technologies, and applications in the biomass process are covered in this work.

Keywords: Biomass, Bioprocess, Microdroplet, Microfluidic device, Micromixer, Micropump.
